Our concrete ESG commitments
In 2017 the first Café Joyeux was set up in Rennes, employing and training people, mainly with Down's syndrome or cognitive disorders such as autism.
Sensitive to the subject of social inclusion and solidarity, Balzac REIM has chosen to participate in the development of Café Joyeux, which contributes to the inclusion of people with mental and cognitive disabilities.
By 2022, 1000 companies directly or indirectly participate in the Café Joyeux project as clients or consuming their products.
For the past 4 years, Balzac REIM has supported the Cycles de l'Immobilier association as a sponsor, convinced by the values defended: caring, surpassing oneself, mutual aid and solidarity.
Created in 2017, Les Cycles de l'Immobilier is an association under the Law of 1901 whose aim is to promote cycling among European real estate professionals, while donating the funds raised to charities, which fall within the real estate, health and education perimeters.
The association's identity is based on 3 pillars: Cycling, Networking and Charity. Every year during the MIPIM trade fair in Cannes, the association organises a charity ride, taking on a challenge covering several hundred kilometres and several thousand meters of ascent over 5 days to reach Cannes by bike with a group of around sixty cyclists, all property professionals. This challenge is an opportunity to support 3 selected charities for periods of 3 years. The last edition (2024) raised over €270,000, bringing the total raised since 2017 to €1 million! This charity trek is an opportunity to put the financial issues specific to our sector in brackets in order to carry out a concrete action in support of causes that are close to our hearts.
In addition to its recurring sponsorship, Balzac REIM is more closely involved with the association through its employee Mathieu MINARD. He is a volunteer member of the association's Bureau and takes part in the charity walk every year.
Balzac REIM has joined the 900 members of the association “Les amis d’Arthur”, which aims to promote the inclusion of people with autism and to change the way our society views this disability.
Balzac REIM measures its carbon footprint which it intends off-setting by planting trees in France later this year.
